Total Knowledge was founded in late 1996 and have been developing activities in two general fields: education and software. The reason for this is simple: one of the founders, Anatoly Volynets is an educator, and another founder, Ilya Volynets is a programmer.
Our major project was a programming school, which was active until fall of 2001. Our major concern has always been quality of service. We were trying to make professional programmers out of complete beginners in very short terms from 6 to 12 months, which is not an easy task to accomplish. Still the majority of our graduates today successfully work as programmers and we are proud of it. We do not do education any more, but can refer anyone, who is interested in the matter to our training philosophy.
Work in the School brought out an idea of further possible development of the company. Every group of trainees was working on a project. The projects, in most cases were live ones. Some of them were pretty well developed before participants found their paid jobs. Actually we urged all of our graduates to stay on school projects and turn them into businesses. We contracted many of them for short terms, but regular paid job has naturally prevailed.
The idea to develop business based on some of our projects was always floating around. So in the spring of 2001 we decided to stop training and concentrate our efforts on engineering.
Since 1996 the Company gathered highly professional programmers, mostly of Russian origin, with experience in the field from 10 to more than 30 years. These are people, which can do *everything* in terms of problem analysis, software design, development and maintenance. What is important, they have deep understanding of fundamental mechanisms underlying programming tools.
